Whether trained in the Art of Theatre, Theatre Craft or the more modern concept of Theatre Design, no matter how advanced the equipment is, it is the same light that Lighting Designers “play” with.
Playing with light
Without light the world has no visible form. The smallest amount of light can reveal hidden shapes and forms or hi light mundane structures the stark light of day blinds us to.
Take for example the ecclesiastical golden splendour of churches and cathedrals at night, or the magical glow of a single candle.
My Real World work looks at using low levels of coloured and open light to reveal scenes through veils, which hide the forms by day or direct sun light.
